My Productions.

Producing and directing media was a new creative experience for me that I had the pleasure of doing during my third and fourth years at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Creating this media pushed me out of my comfort zone and expanded my horizons in addition to enhancing my creativity and productivity. In all of these productions, I was either fully, or partially involved in the post production as well.

DocMini

This was a mini documentary that I had completed with a partner in a class called CA 355: Introduction to Media Production. For this project, we were asked to find someone to interview in order to experiment more with sound (using a Lavalier kit), three point lighting, and b-roll. The projects in this class were on tight deadlines, so we were only granted about a week to edit projects. I think if we were given more time, we would have gladly taken another week to edit and get some more footage to fill in some gaps. My partner, Grace Koenig, and I split everything in this project 50/50. For the post-production, I focused more on the continuity edits and the sound, and Grace focused more on adding in the b-roll. This project taught us how to work under pressure and tight deadlines, in addition to learning about a different culture!

Mental Health Matters

This was a short, social-media/reel style video that I created for a class called CA 200: Introduction to Digital Media. The goal of this video was to create a 45-60 second "reel" promoting an issue of our choosing, as long as it relates to the University of Wisconsin-Madison's school/campus. There were two struggles that I had while working on this project. The first was to keep all the information that I had and convey it in under 60 seconds. The second challenge that I had was filming myself talking, as it was difficult for myself to remember the script. I also did all of the post-production in this project, which was my favorite part about all of it!

Mental Health Matters Pt. 2

This project was a continuation of the 60-second reel promotional video in my CA 200: Introduction to Digital Media course. Using the same issue that we had used for the first project, we were supposed to expand on the issue and call the audience to take action. From start to finish, this project took me about a week to complete. â€‹The main challenge was speaking and filming myself, as I am not used to being in front of the camera. I also did all of the post-production in this video, as well!
