My Post-Production.
Since I was able to grow up during the media boom, I have dabbled in the art of post-production periodically while growing up. However, during my third and fourth years at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, I have had the pleasure of expanding my knowledge in post-production and applications such as Adobe Premiere Pro, and ultimately fell in love with post-production. Below, you will find my post production works, ranging from short social media posts to scenes from short films!

1. Hold on to Me Scene 6
This is an edit that I had made from a short film titled "Hold on to Me" for a class called CA 465: Editing and Post-production for Video and Film. After taking CA 355: Introduction to Media Production in my third year spring semester, I absolutely fell in love with editing and decided to take this course during the summer! The task of this assignment was to make a cohesive edit with focus on the continuity edits and sound effects. This course was an accelerated four week course, so we only had one week per project given. Because of this, it took me about one week to create this edit, which was my main challenge. However, this has further taught me how to work under tight deadlines in addition to working under pressure!
2. Hold on to Me Scenes 15-18

This was another edit that I had made from a short film titled "Hold on to Me" for the course called CA 465: Editing and Post-Production for Video and Film. The task for this assignment was to make a strong, cohesive edit, with focus on continuity between scenes. Due to the nature of the course, we only had about one week to finish each project. This time crunch was probably the main challenge that I experienced for this project, but it taught me to work under tight deadlines and working under pressure!

3. DocMini
This was a mini documentary that I had completed with a partner in a class called CA 355: Introduction to Media Production. For this project, we were asked to find someone to interview in order to experiment more with sound (using a Lavalier kit), three point lighting, and b-roll. The projects in this class were on tight deadlines, so we were only granted about a week to edit projects. I think if we were given more time, we would have gladly taken another week to edit and get some more footage to fill in some gaps. My partner, Grace Koenig, and I split everything in this project 50/50. For the post-production, I focused more on the continuity edits and the sound, and Grace focused more on adding in the b-roll. This project taught us how to work under pressure and tight deadlines, in addition to learning about a different culture!
4. Technical Difficulties

This was a short film that I had the pleasure of being involved in for my final project in the class CA 355: Introduction to Media Production. I believe this short film had to be 3-5 minutes long, and have match-on-action edits in addition to a couple other small, technical requirements. In all, groups were given a lot of creative freedom regarding what the film is about and the kind of editing style to utilize. Claire Shelly did the screenwriting and directed it, Weida Jiang produced it, Hongcen Guo did the lights and sound, and I did the post-production.

There were a few challenges that we had encountered as a group. To start, we were unable to acquire professional actors for the roles, which made the production difficult. As a group, we also each had different visions for the film. It took a lot of communication to sort out the details, but it taught us all how to communicate and work together to overcome obstacles!
